Haley Freedlund (they/them) is a tour manager based in Seattle, WA, committed to supporting efforts that uplift artists, projects and subgenres most needing the extra boost. This commitment has resulted in a wheelhouse built around new and experimental music, large ensembles, jazz aka Black American Music (BAM), nontraditional instrumentation, and supporting artists from all walks of life and many different stages in their career.
Haley comes to tour management with a background in theater production and arts administration, with a knack for creative problem solving. As a working musician, Haley is able to naturally anticipate the needs of touring parties and their support teams, get ahead of issues that might arise while navigating logistics, and advocate for everyone under their wing.
Some of their favorite projects have been built on multimedia works for the stage, including shows created by Ahamefule J. Oluo, Darcy James Argue, and Cherdonna Shinatra. Haley also enjoys regular cross-country partnerships with GRAMMY award-winning ensemble Roomful of Teeth, as well as with IMG Artists and Jazz at Lincoln Center.
At home in Seattle, Haley acts in production manager and curatorial capacities, working with festivals such as the Seattle Improvised Music Festival, Earshot Jazz Festival, and the Olympic Peninsula’s Tarboo Fest. Haley also maintains a working relationship with New York-based brass quartet The Westerlies as their Festival Coordinator and Production Manager.
